Nocturne in Black

Friday, July 7, 2017 at 7 PM - Part of our Short Films Program

Screening followed by a Q & A with producer Felecia Hunter.

In the midst of war-ravaged Syria, Karim seeks solace by secretly playing his piano for himself and his neighbors. Secretly, because music has been banned by the Jihadists in local control under their strict interpretation of Islamic Sharia law. When Karim’s piano is soon discovered, it is destroyed by the Jihadists with heartbreaking and courageous consequences for the entire community.

Numerous awards, including Gold Medal Winner, 2016 Student Academy Awards and short listed for the 2017 Oscars in the Live Action Short category.

Producer Felecia Hunter will be joining us for the Q & A following the Short Films Program.
