7,000 passengers are stranded after the 9/11 terrorist attacks in a small town in Newfoundland, where they were housed and welcomed. Filmed live on stage at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theater in New York City, Come From Away, tells the true story of what transpired when 38 planes were ordered to land unexpectedly at Gander International Airport in the small town of Gander as part of Operation Yellow Ribbon. The characters in the musical are based on (and in most cases share the names of) real Gander residents as well as some of the 7,000 stranded travelers they housed and fed.

Praise for Come From Away

…“Come From Away” is breathless in a way that will leave you in awe. The balancing act it achieves here is really something—the show is constantly evolving within a confined space, it’s robust yet intimate, and for all its artistic complexity, it manages to maintain a let’s-put-on-a-show scrappiness.
